Rachael's Investiture

The Unit had planned to spend the night of 4th June packing and delivering the results of our pie drive. We had used Tony's Pies of Essendon last year when we were raising money for the Venture. This was so successful we had to go again to raise money for the Unit.

Little did we know that Rachael was off to Queensland on a family function when we planned to have her investiture so this was the ideal opportunity. The pies were delivered to the Intrepid Leader's work place (Mackellar Primary School) so the Prep Playground was an ideal area for an investiture.

Our thanks to Elaine and Lesley for the transport and the photos.

The night started out with us sorting through the pies to make up all the orders.

Um, was it 2 chunky steak and a quiche or 2 quiche and a chunky steak? Kieran and Rachael try and work it out. The choccies belong to the school.

The Unit ready themselves for Rachael's investiture in the middle on the Prep playground.

The Intrepid Leader explains the importance of the Venturer Passport.

Ambre presents Rachael with her epaulettes.

Then it was time for the 1st Deer Park name tape.

And finally the scarf.

The Intrepid Leader even restrained himself and didn't give his well worn speech on the history of the our scarf.
