Repairing Our Boats

For the past 2 years the Unit has been working on rebuilding a donated yacht. This has involved stripping back 5 layers of house paint and removing about 2 tonnes of fibreglass tape before we could start taping up the seams again and finally repainting the thing.

These photos show the antics of the Unit members as we slowly but surely get our yacht back into some sort of seaworthy condition.

Matthew sorts out the music while Tim, Daniel and Kieran fibreglass one of the seams.

If nothing else, the Unit members learnt that if you don't mix the fibreglass correctly it gets VERY hot VERY quickly and then you can't use it.

Um, er ....... One of our Unit members is into pain. I'm not saying who it is, but process of elimination would help you.
