"This award is presented in the memory of Rainbow's service to Scouting and his great interest in improving communications within the Scout Movement. It is an annual competition that aims to improve the quality and quantity of Newsletters at Group and District levels."

At the 2005 Victorian Branch Annual General Meeting, the 1st Deer Park Venturer Unit was awarded the Rainbow Simpson Award for 'Assistance in the Improvement of Communications Within The Movement'. We're pretty proud of this as the site is really just meant as a record of the past and present members activities. But it has grown to more than that as this award proves.
