The Unit had been here before, Chris' uniform had even been here before (it used to be Dean's) but nothing quite prepared the Unit for this investiture. For those that don't know, every Friday night Calder Park Raceway holds legal, offstreet drags. Calder Park is only 20 minutes north of our hall and given Chris' family's like of this type of activity it was a natural choice for Chris' investiture.
The Intrepid Leader arranged with Calder's management to get us in for the right price and hold the Investiture on the track when the festivities for the night were over. What he didn't count on was the 'oil down' in the middle of the racing which gave us the opportunity to hold the Investiture while everyone was watching. There's never a dull moment at 1st Deer Park.
